In 1988 Harald Fleig met
Rudolf Breuss who was already 89 years old at that time. It was from him
that he learnt this "disc massage". Harald Fleig found out that
such a massage could very well be combined with the DORN method. Many
problems of the spine like pains caused by a prolapsed disc, lumbago,
etc. could easily be treated without any danger and with very good chances
of success.
What concerns the "gentle"
BREUSS massage of the spine it should be understood that there is no such
a thing as wear of the discs; the discs are merely "degenerated"
and we are convinced that regeneration is possible.
In case of osteoporosis or pains the massage should be done very gently.
It mustn't cause any pain. In case of very serious problems with the spine,
strong pains or hardened muscles the BREUSS massage is an ideal preparation
for the DORN method which the therapist might apply afterwards. The BREUSS
massage is often used after the DORN method as well in order to stretch
the spine even more. The BREUSS massage can be repeated as often as desirable.
The BREUSS massage is a sensitive,
energetic, manual massage of the back in order to dissolve psychological,
energetic or physical blockades. The BREUSS massage may start the regeneration
and recuperation process of undernourished discs, and it is the key for
the solution of many problems of the locomotion system, especially in
the area of the sacrum..
